Stress is something we all experience and it sneaks up on us without realising; impacting our physical movement, crushing our mental wellness, and affecting our day-to-day moods.

Life and expectations can cause us to look for resilience and coping strategies, but the stress can build and become overwhelming causing physical aches and pains, the mental overload leading to inefficiencies at best and at worst breaking down, and don’t underestimate the emotional rollercoaster of anger, sadness, even hyperactivity. Your body is crying out for support. Sometimes these signs are ignored until you become physically unwell for longer periods of time.

Before you get to that point, lets nip it in the bud and take a look at how Radiance treatments can help readdress the signs and symptoms of stress and bring balance back into your life.

 

Indications of stress:

Neck and shoulder tension

One of the first places stress appears is in your neck and shoulders. The phrase – weight of the world on your shoulders – can often feel exactly that. A heaviness and pressure that if unresolved can lead to chronic pain, limited range of movement and tension headaches.

Back neck & shoulder massage or Indian Head Massage– a regular 30-minute treatment can ease the aches of everyday stress.

 

Lower Back Pain

Lower back pain can catch you out with sudden sharp stabbing pain, or a dull ache. Sitting for long periods at your desk or in a car can lead to ongoing issues.

 Back massage, Hot Stone Massage, Full Body Massage.Regular treatments are great, but you also need to review the cause and eliminate this where possible.

 

 

Headaches and Migraines

When you are stressed, your body releases chemicals that can trigger headaches. Then, when you are stressed, you reach for more caffeine and/or sugar to get you through the day – and an overload of these can lead to headaches and migraines. This can hugely impact your day-to-day life and lead to overuse of painkillers.

Radiance Solution:

 This is an easy one – any treatment to reduce stress would work in this situation,
although adding Indian head massage into your treatment plan is highly recommended.

 

 

Digestive Issues

You may experience IBS, bloating, stomach cramps when under stress. This can often occur when a stress is anticipated – a job interview, a relationship discussion looming or before an important life event. Preparation is key in these situations and booking a treatment a few days/ weeks before can help you prepare and reduce the stress incoming.

Radiance Solution:

              Reflexology is amazing for reducing anticipated stress.
The experience and reaction to reflexology is different for everyone, personally reflexology gives me a boost of energy.
If I have an important event coming up, having a treatment 48 hours beforehand gives me the calming boost I need.

 

 

Skin Issues

Breakouts, flare ups, eczema are just a few skin issues you might encounter when under stress. It can be a vicious circle as just having any of these can cause stress. Now you are stressed because your stress has caused more things to be stressed about!!

              Knowing your skin is key. Caring for your skin is essential.
Having regular facials will help reduce breakouts and keep your skin in as healthy condition as  possible.

 

 

Facial tension, lines, and wrinkles

Whilst skin issues such as breakouts may be a temporary thing, facial tension, lines, and wrinkles build over time. Some facial tension may in be related to your neck and shoulder tension, headaches (frowning) may show on your face with frown wrinkles.

Regular Gua Sha (stone therapy) facials are a natural way to reduce fine lines,  wrinkles and ease tightness along the jaw line and neck.
Using the stones to  work deeper into the skin layers you experience a relaxing facial massage alongside the benefits of great facial products.

 

 

Sleep disruption

Sleep disruption is an obvious indicator that stress is impacting your wellbeing. You might find it tricky to fall asleep, or you crash at the end of the day but by 2am, 3am, 4am you are clock watching, your mind is racing, random thoughts  prevent you from falling back to sleep. Or you do not wake but never feel refreshed in the morning, this could be your sleep being disrupted by stress but not waking you properly.

Radiance Solution:

Knowing what is causing sleep disruption can be a significant part to finding the solution. Whilst at times it is possible to introduce strategies to help with the effects of stress, the best solution is to discover and resolve what is causing your stress. This can be challenging, and I can support you with this, although there may be occasions when I recommend a different type of therapy/therapist to help you with this.

       However, any Radiance treatment will help with impact of sleep disruption.
